Filisṭīn

We weep in a state of helplessness as the screams of the children of Palestine echo through the bloody streets, as the wombs of pregnant women are mercilessly ripped open, as men selflessly hold themselves together for their families. The atrocities are innumerable, unforgivable, yet the leaders callously stand by as babies are decapitated, as limbs are blown apart then bagged up for fathers to carry, as women are left naked on the streets. How can a humane world that has witnessed massacres, genocides and apartheids, time and time again, still watch the same fate unfold on innocents and turn a blind eye? How has the heart become so detached from such contempt? How we act in the face of these horrors will be questioned on an undeniable day. In the midst of such tragedies, none can deny the faith that beautifully ribbons the believers together. Liberty is in the raising of the hands, reaching out to the Lord, rectifying the actions and having an unwavering conviction that victory shall be for the believers. Thus, let us raise our hands after every ṣalāh, with the downpour of rain and in the gifted hours of the night.

“Never think of those martyred in the cause of Allāh as dead. In fact, they are alive with their Lord, well provided for.” (3:169)
